Once your form and videos are submitted, you will be contacted for next steps. Whether it be an in-person interview with the Worship Pastor, or maybe even a connection to another ministry leader (if there is potential for your giftings to be used elsewhere). Our goal, hopes, and heart are for you to discover & deploy your giftings in this family of believers! We are here to help you do just that!
Worship & Tech Ministries of Journey Church exist to touch the heart of God and inspire others to join us - through music, media, and creative arts!
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
*Be a believer and follower of Christ, constantly pursing spiritual growth
*Be a passionate worshiper and representation of Christ, on and off the platform
*Understand our priority of commitment and quality
*Faithful and punctual to all scheduled rehearsals and services
*Musical Skill / Technical Experience
*Regularly attend Journey Church for 6 months
*Must be a member or pursuing membership through MAPS Class
*Must be 18yrs+
*Must provide quality instrument (if applicable) & in-ear buds/phones
*Must have access to computer and/or smartphone for apps needed for music/scheduling/in-ear mix control
*Fill out Forms: Background Check & Volunteer Application (made available at in-person interview)
*For Musicians/Vocalist: Video Auditions and Call-Back Interviews
*Finding/Holding your harmony would be required for background singers, but NOT for worship choir.
*Playing by chord sheets would be required for instumentalist, with the exception of the drummer.
*NOTE: Childcare is not readily available at this time due to teacher/child ratios being maxed. If this option becomes available, it will be made known to team members in need.
*NOTE: Worship/Tech ministries often conflict with those serving in Sunday Hopitality Teams (usher, greeter, host, coffee bar, parking, etc), Sunday Specialty Teams (security, prayer partners, etc.) and Kids Ministries. If you already serve in these, you may not be able to commit to both.
If you were previously involved in ministry at another church, please list the church name, lead pastor, and pastor/leader in direct leadership over the ministries you were involved in. (If there were multiple churches, please just list the most recent.)
Vocalist / Instrumentalist:
Please submit a video of yourself performing two song selections.
GUIDELINES:
*SONG ONE: The first song selection should be a FAST song that is a familiar worship song. Vocalist should sing at least half of the song in a harmony part. (Preferably one we currently do in our services)
*SONG TWO: The second song selection should be a SLOW song that is a familiar worship song. Vocalist should sing at least half of the song in a harmony part. (Preferably one we currently do in our services)
*Instrumentalist - you can play solo, to track, or with vocal accompanist.
*Vocalist - You should sing at least half of the song in a harmony part. You can sing accapella, to track, or to live accompanist.
*Note: You can request chord charts from us, if needed.
*Note: You do not have to perform the entire song. One verse, chorus, and bridge would suffice.
